Senior scientist Bill McIlroy is a senior scientist and leader of Toronto Rehab's Mobility Research Team, yet his desire to develop solutions and find the answers to the challenges experienced by those with disabilities is rooted much deeper in his psyche.

"My grandmother was someone I always looked up to," says Dr. McIlroy. "Watching her age and struggle with disability as she aged was something that inspired me to want to help people overcome disability and live life to fullest in a safe manner that respects independence and dignity."

For more about Dr. McIlroy's research and the work of the Mobility Research Team, download the +5 Research Report.

About the Mobility Research Team

The Mobility Research Team focuses on all aspects of mobility, including walking (with or without aids), wheeling (manual and powered wheelchairs) and driving. We have provided a selection of the projects led by members of Mobility Team members. Different projects will be featured throughout the year.
