Fitness in Neurological Populations Conference

Toronto Rehab, in collaboration with colleagues from the Department of Physiotherapy at the University of Toronto are pleased to host Fitness in Neurological Population: Application to Stroke, a one-day conference bridging new research with clinical practice to improve health, function and quality of life for people living with the effects of stroke.

Experts form Canada and the U.S. will speak on issues relating to fitness and aerobic capacity, give interactive group sessions and provide practical take-home messages on the rehabilitation of patients who suffer from the secondary effects of stroke.

Physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, kinesiologists and program directors from acute and rehabilitation hospitals are invited to attend. Topics, such as deconditioning following stroke, principles of exercise testing, exercise prescription and benefits of training on activity will be discussed along with workshops on sub-max testing and the measures of aerobic capacity.
