The Evolving Complexity of the Musculoskeletal Client: Role of
the Occupational Therapy Assistant in Rehabilitation

Directions: The only access to Kilgour Road is off of Bayview Avenue. There is a gate at Kilgour Road and Rumsey Road, that restricts access to all visitor traffic.

Accessible parking is close to the main entrance and a covered drop-off area. Parking charges are managed through automated stations: $7.00 for the whole day.
Who: OTAs, rehabilitation assistants and students who work with MSK clients are encouraged to attend this workshop.
What: This one-day workshop will outfit occupational therapy assistants with valuable knowledge on the latest rehabilitation trends and examine their role in providing care for clients with specific MSK conditions.
Participants will learn the most current information on such topics as:
- Pain management in the elderly patient following an orthopedic injury: Is Medication Enough?
- Occupational therapy & oncology: The role of the OTA
- New initiatives in fractured hip rehabilitation: FHRAT (Fractured Hip Rapid Assessment and Treatment) – Implications for the OTA
- Musculoskeletal rehabilitation for the individual with cognitive challenges
