Working at Toronto Rehab is a unique and rewarding experience.
| We are distinct because of our academic focus through
research. |
| Our goal is to find new and better ways to help people
build the skills and abilities they need to return to
their activities of daily living with their families,
at work, and in their communities. And while generating
new knowledge is key, putting that new knowledge into
practice and sharing it with others in the field is equally
important - just one way we enhance the care available
to our patients and people across Ontario and beyond.
|
| We believe in lifelong learning. |
| We've committed substantial funding to professional
development and continuing education programs and on-site
learning labs for all our staff. Our tuition assistance
program provides funding, up to a specific maximum each
year, for any full- or part-time employee who is pursing
a relevant/related diploma or degree. In addition, there
are funds available to clinical staff for ongoing professional
development courses and conferences. |
| We are a leader in rehabilitation science. |
| Our researchers are continually breaking
new ground and establishing best practices for rehabilitation
science. And clinical staff have the opportunity to enhance
their professional knowledge by working closely with these
top researchers in their field while providing quality
and innovative patient care. |
| We have six diverse clinical program specialties. |
| Clinical staff can choose to practice in
one of six different program specialties. (See our Patient
Care section for more about each program.) Or, as a career
option, our staff may choose to develop their skills in
more than one area of practice without changing employers. |
| You are able to work closely with patients and share
in their successes. |
| Because the rehabilitation process can take
week or even months, clinicians are able to spend time
with patients and witness improvements as they happen.
At Toronto Rehab, you are an integral part of an inter-professional
team dedicated to providing patients with a continuum
of care. |
| We provide an academic practice setting. |
| As a fully affiliated teaching hospital
of the University of Toronto, you have the chance to learn
advanced practice skills and take advantage of opportunities
to participate in clinical research to advance the knowledge
and practice of rehabilitation and help your patients
achieve their goals. Our Professional Practice portfolio
is a rich resource that ensures all staff have the most
up-to-date skills and educational opportunities to optimize
their potential. |
| We offer competitive salaries and benefits. |
| Our salaries are competitive and we offer comprehensive benefits including: health and dental coverage, life and long-term
disability insurance, participation in HOOPP (Hospitals
of Ontario Pension Plan), Employee Assistance Program,
tuition assistance, corporate and profession-specific
orientation programs, discounts and activities offered
through our social committee, staff recognition luncheons
and the option to participate in the Canada Savings Bonds
purchase plan. |
