Graduate Students

We welcome your interest in Toronto Rehab and the work we are doing. More than 160 masters and doctoral students are gaining hands-on experience in rehabilitation research at Toronto Rehab. Graduate students are important members of our eight research teams which are designed to encourage collaboration and mentorship between scientists and students.

Students who wish to pursue graduate studies at Toronto Rehab must apply through their respective academic departments. Toronto Rehab is a fully affiliated teaching hospital of the University of Toronto. If you are interested in becoming a graduate student at Toronto Rehab, you will need to obtain:

  • Acceptance to a graduate program at an institution with an active affiliation agreement with Toronto Rehab. [Links to Education Office page which has list of institutions with which we are actively affiliated]
  • A potential supervisor. You will need to find a supervisor at Toronto Rehab who is also a member of the graduate school at which you are accepted.  To help you identify potential supervisors, please consult our researcher profiles. Prospective students are encouraged to contact a potential supervisor to discuss your research ideas.
  • Funding. A range of funding opportunities is available to graduate students. Talk to your potential supervisor early on about your research ideas so that he or she can help you develop a suitable project for your scholarship application. Students are encouraged to consult the graduate student funding information available though their home institutions.  University of Toronto graduate students should consult School of Graduate Studies - Graduate Awards.
