Bed Assignments

Most patients have a standard room with four beds in it.

 

Private and semi-private rooms

We have private (1 bed) and semi-private (2 bed) rooms available at an extra cost.

If you would like a private or semi-private room, tell us when you arrive. If you request a private or semi-private room, we will ask you to sign an agreement to pay for the extra cost. If you have private insurance, the cost to upgrade to a private or semi-private room may be covered.

Please note: Not all insurance companies will pay for these rooms in a rehab hospital. Check your insurance coverage to see whether the cost of a room will be paid for. 

We will try our best to give you a private or semi-private room if you request one. Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. We may need to make room changes during your stay due to medical or infection control needs.
 

Complex Continuing Care Program co-payment fees

If you are accepted into our Complex Continuing Care Program, you may be required to pay a co-payment fee.

Co-payment is charged to patients whose doctor has determined that the patient requires complex continuing care or long-term care and is more or less a permanent resident in a hospital or other institution. This can sometimes include patients who are waiting for placement in a long-term care facility. Co-payment is a patient’s contribution toward accommodation and meals. Co-payment fees are determined and set by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

Palliative care patients are not required to pay co-payment for up to 90 days.

If you are required to pay a co-payment fee, Toronto Rehab’s Business Office will work with you to make sure that the fee is accurate. Any information you provide will be treated privately and confidentially.

A social worker or other member of the care team can help you and your family members to contact the Business Office for more information on co-payment fees.
 

Paying your account

Accounts are due upon receipt of invoice and can be paid in the Business Office. You can pay by Visa, debit card, cash or cheque.
