Pulse Check
Free annual fitness assessments for graduates
Pulse Check invites Cardiac Rehab graduates to return each year for a free annual fitness assessment. This assessment includes cardiopulmonary fitness testing, exercise prescription adjustments, risk factor analyses and other useful information on your current cardiac health.

Take C.H.A.R.G.E. Alumni Education Series
Monthly educational lectures and community building events for graduates
Take C.H.A.R.G.E. is a monthly education series for cardiac rehab graduates and their families and supporters. The primary goals of this program are to empower our graduates with knowledge and encourage peer support and community-building among our alumni. Lectures are presented by Toronto Rehab experts and guest speakers from the health care community. Community-building events currently include a Holiday Feast in December and Summer BBQ in June.

Women with Heart Seminar Series
Quarterly educational seminars on health issues unique to women
Women with Heart is a quarterly education series that explores the latest health issues unique to women with heart disease or related conditions. The series welcomes patients, graduates, and family and community members. Both men and women are encouraged to attend. Admission is free and light refreshments are served at each event.

Staying on Track
Graduate Drop-in Exercise Sessions at Rumsey
Staying on Track offers drop-in exercise sessions for graduates wishing to continue their weekly exercise routines at Toronto Rehab’s Rumsey Centre. Sessions are currently offered twice weekly:
Every Monday (excluding holidays), 8:30 - 10:00 AM
Every Tuesday (excluding holidays), 6:00 - 7:30 PM
Graduates can now enjoy flexible pricing options to participate:
Prepaid Options provide graduates access to all sessions offered within a fixed period of time.
$200 / 1 year
$130 / 6 months
$25 / 1 month
Pay As You Go Options provide graduates access to a fixed number of sessions.
$40 / 10 sessions
$5 / 1 session (drop-in rate)
To sign up, arrive at Toronto Rehab’s Rumsey Centre reception 15 minutes prior to the session you would like to attend. Purchase one drop-in session or a Staying on Track Access Pass entitling you to one of the above options.

Heart Wise Exercise Program
Transitioning graduates to safe exercise programs in the community

The Heart Wise Exercise Program helps graduates transition from their formal rehabilitation programs to fitness programs available in the community. The Heart Wise symbol identifies exercise programs that are safe and suitable for participants with heart disease. Classes are currently offered at three YMCA locations in Toronto.

Heart Health for Life Champions
Volunteer opportunities for graduates
Our graduates are our greatest champions. Heart Health for Life Champions invites graduates to stay involved with Toronto Rehab as volunteers for the Cardiac Rehabilitation & Secondary Prevention Program. Volunteers stay motivated to maintain their own health while inspiring and supporting current participants during their rehabilitation programs.
