Toronto Rehab Scientist Named President-elect of RESNA
Aug. 16 - 2010 – Dr. Alex Mihailidis, a Toronto Rehab scientist and biomedical engineer, will be the next president of the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA).
Dr. Mihailidis is an internationally known researcher in the field of aging and technology, and a pioneer in the use of artificial intelligence to help older people and those with disabilities. He holds the Barbara G. Stymiest Chair in Rehabilitation Technology Research at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute / University of Toronto.
Dr. Mihailidis assumes the presidency of RESNA in August 2012. “It’s an honour to be taking on this role at an organization that contributes to public welfare through assistive technology and rehabilitation engineering,” says Dr. Mihailidis, who is also an associate professor of occupational science and occupational therapy at the University of Toronto.
