6th Annual Research Day

Toronto Rehab’s 6th Annual Research Day will be held Friday, November 26 at the Sheraton Centre, 123 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario.

The morning session consists of “Minute Madness” oral presentations, during which presenters are challenged to convey the importance of their work in just one minute.  The afternoon session includes poster presentations and interactive displays.

This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Philippa Clarke on the topic of “Disability and the Built Environment”.  Dr. Clarke is a Research Assistant Professor at the Survey Research Center, Institute for Social Research, University of Michigan.

Research Day is also a celebration of student achievement. Toronto Rehabilitation Institute Scholarships in Rehabilitation-related Research for Graduate Students with Disabilities will be presented to recipients. The scholarship, funded by TD Grants in Medical Excellence, supports the education and training of masters and doctoral students with disabilities who are studying in a rehabilitation-related field and intend on contributing to rehabilitation science as researchers. In addition, graduate students from each of our eight research teams will be recognized by their colleagues through our Team Awards, valued at $2,000 per team.

Prizes will also be presented for Best Poster, Best Interactive Display, and best Minute Madness presentation (the People’s Choice Award).

The call for poster and interactive display submissions is now open!

Registration for attendees and presenters can be completed online at: Registration/Submissions
