Library Services

Library Services, in support of Toronto Rehab's patient care programs, provides access to rehabilitation information (print and electronic), particularly in the fields of:

  • occupational, physical, recreation and speech therapy
  • medicine
  • nutrition
  • nursing
  • and social work

Libraries are available at each of Toronto Rehab's five sites.

External User Services
External users must register with Library Services and obtain a yearly membership. The following services are available. Fees for these services are due on receipt of document or search. Contact Doreen Millman-Wilson, Manager Library Services if you are interested in becoming an External User.

The following services are available for staff and students of Toronto Rehab and those who have registered as External Users.

Circulation: 

  • journals circulate for two weeks

  • current journal issues "in library" use only

  • books circulate for three weeks
     

Document Delivery and Photocopy Services:

  • Journal articles not in the Collection can be ordered by the Library Services staff. A fee may apply.
  • Photocopying facilities are available at the University site at 20 cents per page. 

Literature Searching:
To request a literature search, send an email to Doreen Millman-Wilson indicating:

  • your search topic (be as specific as possible) 
     
  • any preferred databases

    • Medline

    • CINAHL

    • PsycInfo

    • Health and Psychosocial Instruments

    • Evidence Based databases

    • Embase

    • Other 

  •  years to include in search

  •  any other appropriate limitations such as male/female, age restrictions

To obtain regular updates or e-table of contents, contact Doreen Millman-Wilson to discuss your search parameters. Your search will be run automatically against appropriate databases on a regular basis (monthly or weekly).
