Library Services
Library Services, in support of Toronto Rehab's patient care programs, provides access to rehabilitation information (print and electronic), particularly in the fields of:
occupational, physical, recreation and speech therapy; nursing, social work, nutrition, physical medicine
The library holdings are available through the University of Toronto catalogue. Photocopying facilities are available at the University site for a fee per page.
The following services are available for staff and students of Toronto Rehab.
Circulation:
Books and journals can be borrowed for two weeks. Current journal issues are for “in library” use only. Books can be renewed over the telephone.
Document Delivery and Photocopy Services:
Journal articles or books, not in the collection can be ordered for you by the Library Services staff. A fee may apply. Photocopying facilities are available at the University site.
Literature Searching:
Literature searches can be requested on specific topics, using appropriate databases (for example, Medline, CINAHL, PsycInfo, Cochrane databases). To request a literature search, send an email to the librarian at your site indicating your topic and any limitations such as publication dates or type of study.
Current awareness:
To obtain regular updates on your subject area or e-table of contents for your favourite journals, contact your librarian to discuss your search parameters. Your search will be run automatically against appropriate databases on a regular basis (monthly or weekly).
Library Orientation:
To book either an individual or group appointment, contact the librarian at your site. An orientation session will include an introduction to the Library Services Intranet, to OVID, and to the University of Toronto resources.
