Organizational health is a priority at Toronto Rehab. We ensure that staff are  safe, healthy and engaged each and every day across all of our hospital sites.

Safety and Wellness
We promote a healthy and safe environment for the Toronto Rehab community. 

Safety initiatives include:

  •  Injury prevention
  •  Policies and procedures related to safety
  •  Staff education and targeted safety programs
  •  Staff surveys and safety committees
  •  Incident tracking and  follow up
  •  Infection prevention and control initiatives

Staff wellness initiatives include:

  •  An Employee and Family Assistance Program which provides services such as:
    • Nutrition counseling
    • Assistance in finding child care solutions
    • Eldercare counseling
    • Finance management
    • Smoking cessation programs
  •  Staff education on health and wellness 
  •  Onsite staff massage
  •  Opportunity for sports and recreation

In 2009, Toronto Rehab received the OHA Healthy Hospital Innovators Award which recognizes organizations for their commitment to implementing a comprehensive and strategic approach to the development and sustainability of a healthy workplace. It also serves to recognize healthcare organizations that demonstrate their willingness to participate in the transfer of knowledge regarding their program successes and challenges.
