Organizational health is a priority at Toronto Rehab. We ensure that staff are safe, healthy and engaged each and every day across all of our hospital sites.
Safety and Wellness
We promote a healthy and safe environment for the Toronto Rehab community.
Safety initiatives include:
- Injury prevention
- Policies and procedures related to safety
- Staff education and targeted safety programs
- Staff surveys and safety committees
- Incident tracking and follow up
- Infection prevention and control initiatives
Staff wellness initiatives include:
- An Employee and Family Assistance Program which provides services such as:
- Nutrition counseling
- Assistance in finding child care solutions
- Eldercare counseling
- Finance management
- Smoking cessation programs
- Staff education on health and wellness
- Onsite staff massage
- Opportunity for sports and recreation
In 2009, Toronto Rehab received the OHA Healthy Hospital Innovators Award which recognizes organizations for their commitment to implementing a comprehensive and strategic approach to the development and sustainability of a healthy workplace. It also serves to recognize healthcare organizations that demonstrate their willingness to participate in the transfer of knowledge regarding their program successes and challenges.
