Interprofessional Education

A recognized leader in interprofessional education

At Toronto Rehab we established our innovative student interprofessional education (IPE) program in 2004 and we’ve never looked back.

Our students and staff learn about, from and with each other.

Students from all professional groups participate in interprofessional teams of Toronto Rehab clinical staff and students. Our program ensures that they meet their clinical placement requirements, but the learning doesn’t stop there. Students learn how to work in a collaborative team and gain an increased understanding of the expertise each profession brings to solving health problems.

It’s a stimulating learning environment—one that students rank highly year after year.

Our staff plays a critical role in the education process—supervising students and providing hands-on clinical training. Faculty development workshops and continuing professional development support staff in this role.

As a leader in IPE, Toronto Rehab has developed a variety of IPE tools in order to share our expertise with others. We’re also a founding partner in the University of Toronto’s Centre for Interprofessional Education.
