Broader Public Sector Accountability
In December 2010, the Ontario Government passed the
Broader Public Sector Accountability Act. This legislation is aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability among public sector organizations including hospitals.
As an organization whose Strategic Plan, annual operating plans and core values are built on the principles of accountability, value, sustainability and quality, we believe that our long-standing commitment to accountability and transparency aligns well with this legislation. Our online
Performance Report is updated regularly to demonstrate our performance on key indicators related to patient care, education, research, people and our relationships, including our accountability to stakeholders such as the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network.
Expenses Policy
As of April 1, 2011, all hospitals in Ontario must make available to the public policies related to allowable expenses of its employees and members of its volunteer Board of Directors. Toronto Rehab’s expense policy is now available online. This expense policy is consistent with the
Broader Public Sector Expenses Directives.
Reporting of expenses claimed by members of Toronto Rehab’s senior management team and members of its volunteer Board of Directors will be reported by November 30, 2011, at which time expenses claimed between April 1 and September 30, 2011 will be reported.
